CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY
PASADENA, CALIFORNIA
Quiet, hands-on work for persistent tension and bodies that have a hard time letting go.
Craniosacral therapy is a gentle form of bodywork using light, specific touch around the head, spine, sacrum, and body.
People usually come to me with persistent neck and shoulder tension, jaw and head tension, concussions, migraines, stress they feel physically, or patterns that keep returning despite massage or other bodywork.
Sessions are unhurried and individually tailored.
90 minutes · $150 · Pasadena

PEOPLE COME TO ME WHEN
Their neck and shoulders never quite let go.
They hold a lot of tension through the jaw or head.
Stress has become something they feel physically.
Massage or other bodywork helps, but the same patterns keep returning.
They've been through an injury, period of stress, or significant change and don't quite feel settled in their body again.
Or they're simply looking for a quieter, more attentive approach to bodywork.
We'll start with what's going on and what you're hoping to get from the session.

A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO BODYWORK
Craniosacral therapy is subtle work.
Rather than forcing a muscle to relax or imposing a correction on the body, I work slowly with the patterns of tension I find throughout the body, particularly around the cranium, spine, and sacrum.
My approach begins with a simple idea:
The body isn't passive.
It is continually adapting and responding.
My job isn't to overpower that process, but to listen carefully enough to work with it.
Sessions use gentle, specific touch and are performed fully clothed.

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY
"I have seen a lot of bodyworkers (including a few craniosacral practitioners) over the years and from my experience Aaron is one of the best I have encountered in all fields of bodywork."
—Maggie
"I was skeptical at first, but Aaron made me feel safe and comfortable. His approach is incredibly gentle and I came to trust his work."
—Jack
"From my very first session, I felt a shift—I began to relax in ways I hadn’t experienced in a long time. As I continued working with Aaron, my migraines disappeared, my sleep improved, and, to my surprise, my dreams returned."
—Paul

WHAT TO EXPECT
We begin with a conversation.
We'll talk about what brought you in, what you've been experiencing, and anything that might be relevant to our work.
You remain fully clothed.
Most of the session takes place lying comfortably on a treatment table.
The work is gentle.
I use light, specific contact around the head, spine, sacrum, and other areas of the body depending on what I find. Why is light touch so effective? When the body is presented with force it braces. Some forms of bodywork will then attempt to push through this bracing. When presented with an attentive, accurate light touch, the body softens. The fascia, connective tissue and musculature relaxes, allowing deeper held tensions around the bones and nervous system to release and unwind. I am always listening to and working with the body's intelligence.
There is no required response.
Some people become deeply relaxed. Others notice changes in tension, sensation, breathing, or awareness. Sometimes the experience is simply one of becoming very quiet.
I don't approach every person with the same protocol. While there are key areas that I almost always address, everyone's system and lived experience is different. The work develops according to what I find in the session.

ABOUT AARON

My name is Aaron James Miller, a craniosacral practitioner working in Pasadena, California.
My initial formal training in Craniosacral Therapy was through IPSB School of Integrative Psycho-Structural Bodywork. Additionally I have trained in Tibetan Medicine through Sowa Rigpa Institute, and Equine Craniosacral Therapy with Maureen Rogers of Equine CranioSacral Workshops, alongside other healing modalities and apprenticeships.
My work is grounded in careful observation, anatomy, and an interest in the ways the body organizes and adapts.
I work slowly and individually, without trying to force the body toward a predetermined outcome.
